Enjoy a night under the stars
Thursday, 05 May 2011 10:10
This weekend bring your family out to Lincoln Amphitheatre for a movie night under the stars.
Lincoln Amphitheatre will host a classic family film series through May, June, July, August, and September. Be a kid again and enjoy some of your favorite movies under this 1,500-seat outdoor amphitheatre located inside the very woods Abe Lincoln explored as a boy. Get lost in the world of movies and ride alongside some of your favorite characters such as Kermit in “The Muppet Movie,” Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz,” and everyone’s favorite little alien in “E.T.”
Watch as these movies come to life on Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 40 x 30 foot screen. Share with your kids the movies that helped create some of your childhood memories. Follow along with a group of friends who embark on an exciting journey after finding a pirate treasure map in "The Goonies." The movie will start at 8:00 pm CDT, Saturday, May 7, and is free of charge (monetary donations are appreciated). Discover the magic of the truffle shuffle!
Visit Lincoln Amphitheatre and enjoy a movie and popcorn under the stars. For more information on Lincoln Amphitheatre or Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home, give us a call at (888) 444-9252 or email

We’ve got a Game Plan!
Tuesday, 03 May 2011 15:14
I know it’s only the beginning of the week but there are so many fun events going on this weekend that, here at the Visitors Bureau, we are already getting prepared!
Visit Santa Claus, Indiana, this Saturday for the opening day of the season at Santa’s Candy Castle and Holiday World! And head over to Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home for Mr. Lincoln’s Neighborhood 5K Run/Walk and the first night of the family film series at Lincoln Amphitheatre.
With all of these events happening on the same day, you’re probably thinking “how am I going to make it to all of them?” That’s where we jump in! The Visitors Bureau is here to help you make a game plan for the weekend in order to avoid missing any of the fun activities.
A great way to start off your Saturday morning would be to participate in Mr. Lincoln’s Neighborhood 5k Run/Walk at 9:00 am CDT. The route begins and ends at the Lincoln Amphitheatre parking lot and will take you on paved roads throughout the scenic Lincoln State Park.
Next, head on over to Holiday World for the opening day of the theme park’s 65th season and enjoy three of the world’s top-rated wooden roller coasters. The little ones in the family can take a ride on the new Rudolph’s Round-Up! After a fun day at Holiday World, you’re probably going to need a nice refreshing drink; stop by Santa’s Candy Castle for a frozen hot chocolate! Explore the festive castle and be sure to chat with one of Santa’s elves on the “North Pole Network.”
Before calling it a day, head back over to Lincoln Amphitheatre and watch some of your favorite stars under the stars. “The Goonies” will come to life on Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 40 x 30 foot screen at 8:00 pm CDT. This is the first of many family films that will be playing over the spring, summer, and fall months at the amphitheatre.
With so many great events going on this weekend, we want to make sure you make it to all of them. For help planning your visit and finding a place to stay in Santa Claus, Indiana, and Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home, give us a call at (888) 444-9252 or email
